Upon purchasing my Creative Zen recently I found that their software for transfering files/media is only supported under windows. To keep from having to boot up windows or mess with wine I found Gnomad2 as a good solution. This will allow you to drag and drop all your files onto it just like any other removable media.
To get the Creative Zen V Plus working under Fedora linux the following packages need to be installed:
libnjb, libmtp and gnomad2
Simply do a yum install rpm name.
Thats it, then while still in the terminal type gnomad2. Hit Enter. Or optionally go to Applications/Sound and Video/Gnomad 2.
Connect the Zen via the usb cable and you should be good to go.
Occasionally the Zen may freeze after large/extensive transfers. Disconnecting the unit then reconnecting it seems to fix this.
